NameFerry Terms of Service
Welcome to NameFerry. These terms explain the services we provide, the rules for using the site, and how its content and conversion results may be used. Please also read our Privacy Notice for information about the handling of personal information.

NameFerry provides name readings, transliteration, character-form comparisons, kana formatting, batch conversion, name cards and related explanations to help users understand names and written expressions across languages.
The features, supported scope and usage limits of each tool are described on its corresponding page.
2. Reasonable use
Only enter, convert or export text and materials that you have the right to use, and respect other people’s privacy and other legal rights.
Do not use the site to impersonate others, commit fraud, infringe anyone’s rights or conduct unlawful activities. Do not disrupt its operation through attacks, malicious requests or other means.
3. Understanding conversion results
Some results are generated automatically using dictionaries, language resources and program rules. Names, kanji and words can have multiple readings, and actual usage may also depend on context, region and personal preference.
We continue to improve the tools and explanations, but cannot guarantee that every result is entirely accurate or suitable for every situation.
For important uses such as reservations, applications, identity documents or contracts, follow the name holder’s usage, the receiving organization’s requirements or the relevant official requirements.
4. Input materials and generated results
You may use readings, tables and name cards generated by the tools where lawful and permitted by the relevant licenses. Converting or exporting content does not automatically grant you additional rights to use the input materials, third-party data or other protected content.
5. Site content and third-party materials
Rights in the site’s original explanations, page designs, site identifiers and other content belong to their respective rights holders. When quoting our explanations, credit the source and follow the applicable usage rules.
Third-party dictionaries, data and open-source software used by the site are subject to their respective licenses. See Data Sources and Licenses for details. These terms do not limit rights already granted to you by the relevant open licenses.
6. Privacy and information handling
Name conversion algorithms run in your browser. Our Privacy Notice explains information handling related to site visits, analytics, advertising, third-party services and contact forms.
Choose what to enter based on your needs, and avoid submitting sensitive information unrelated to using the tools.
7. Advertising, affiliate links and third-party services
Some pages contain advertising or affiliate links. We may receive a commission when you complete an eligible booking through an affiliate link.
Third-party providers are responsible for their own prices, offers, products and services. Their terms and policies apply to reservations, payments, cancellations, after-sales support and related matters. Please check these before making a transaction.
8. Service changes and liability
We make efforts to keep the site operating normally, but maintenance, faults, network issues or changes to third-party services may make it temporarily unavailable. Please save important results promptly.
When important changes are made to features or usage rules, we will explain them on the relevant pages and update the date of these terms.
Liability arising from use of the site is determined under applicable law and the circumstances of each case. These terms do not exclude or limit liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited, including liability required by law for harm caused by our intentional misconduct or gross negligence.
